Special Issue Policy

Special Issue topics are determined by the journal’s editorial team. Submissions to Special Issues follow the same submission process and author guidelines as those for regular issues. Prospective authors are encouraged to carefully review all submission guidelines and adhere to the procedures outlined by the journal.

Review Process and Guidelines for Special Issues

Special Issues are reviewed and published using the same standards and procedures applied to all other issues of the journal.

Submission and Review Process

Special Issues welcome submissions from all researchers whose work aligns with the scope and objectives of the issue. While certain contributions may be invited, unsolicited submissions are generally encouraged and will receive full consideration. In some cases, however, a Special Issue may consist entirely of invited papers. An invitation to submit should not be interpreted as a guarantee of acceptance.

The editorial team is committed to transparency and the preservation of academic integrity in all Special Issue content, regardless of how submissions are solicited. All manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Guest Editors to assess their quality and relevance based on predefined criteria. Manuscripts deemed suitable will then be subject to the same peer review process as submissions to regular issues. Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer comments.

Guest Editors provide recommendations regarding acceptance or rejection, with final decisions made by the Editor-in-Chief.

Ethical Standards

The journal adheres to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and complies with the relevant rules and regulations of scholarly publishing authorities, as outlined in the Editorial Governance and Ethical Standards section.

All submissions are evaluated based on originality, significance, and contribution to the field. The journal ensures a fair and impartial review process, maintains confidentiality, and requires full disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest from both authors and reviewers. The journal is committed to the highest standards of ethical publishing practices, including but not limited to:
  • Authorship criteria
  • Data integrity
  • Handling of research misconduct

Appointment of Guest Editors

Guest Editors for Special Issues are selected based on their subject-matter expertise, academic reputation, and prior editorial experience. Candidates may be nominated by members of the editorial board, existing editors, or through self-nomination. All nominations are reviewed by the editorial board and require approval from the Editor-in-Chief.

Guest Editors are responsible for:

  • Defining the scope of the Special Issue
  • Preparing the call for papers
  • Managing manuscript submissions
  • Overseeing the peer review process
  • Ensuring the quality and originality of published content
  • Making final acceptance decisions in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief

Publication Timing and Review Process

Manuscripts are accepted on a rolling basis and must conform to the specified submission types and the full author guidelines provided by the journal. Submissions are scheduled for publication in a forthcoming issue once they are deemed ready, rather than based solely on the date of submission.

All issues of the journal, including Special Issues, follow the same editorial and peer review procedures and adhere to the policies published on the journal’s website.

The journal encourages and welcomes submissions from the scholarly community.
